What is hormone-free menopause support?

Many women choose to treat their perimenopause and menopause symptoms without the aid of hormone therapy. This may be due to a personal or family history of certain medical conditions, or personal or religious preferences. 

Regardless of which avenue you choose - to use hormone therapy or not - I encourage you to seek support for your symptoms if they are interfering with your quality of life. Women do not need to suffer when there are so many options available. 

Options for (non-hormonal) treatment

  • Nutrition: This is where I always start, even for women who choose hormone therapy. The foods you eat are directly tied to symptom severity, and a bit of tweaking of a woman's diet is often enough to make dramatic improvements in how she feels. 
  • Exercise: Research shows improvements in many menopause-related symptoms when women are physically active. Additionally, certain types of exercise are massively beneficial to a woman's long-term health and wellness. I review every patient's lifestyle and fitness regimen, and make recommendations that are accessible and beneficial.
  • Stress management: There can be no doubt that stressed out women have more severe symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. Studies show many stress-reduction techniques to be effective for symptom relief. I provide tools for my patients to use, make referrals when necessary, and support mental health through sleep optimization and nutrient therapy. 
  • Herbal and neutraceutical recommendations: When diet, exercise, and stress management aren't enough, I turn to the safe and reliable herbs and supplements that women have been using for generations. These are carefully chosen for each individual, with their goals and symptoms in mind.
